The LVV was one of the lowest cost Linn arms they produced. Considering the price point the Basic was sold at and the fact Linn bought it in from an outside manufacturer (like all their arms and cartridges) it is not a high value product.īut to change you will have to change the armboard. I don't know if a RB300 "sounds' better than the Linn (I have never used a Linn arm) but I personally feel it is a better quality product. Replacing the bearings fixed the problem until the next time. The housing wall seems to be thin and soft. In each case it had been screwed down so hard and so many times that the metal was distorted and depending on the exact position the arm was in put pressuse on one or both vertical shaft bearings. The VTA clamping system (which the Rega does not have) is basically a setscrew jammed against the vertical post.
